MARSHALL — Minnesota congressional members Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach will be holding a couple of events in Marshall this week.
On Wednesday, outreach staff for Sen. Amy Klobuchar will hold a listening session on the upcoming Farm Bill. Later this week, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach will visit Marshall and speak at a Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce event.
Staff for Klobuchar are looking for feedback on the Farm Bill, as work on the bill continues in the Senate Agriculture Committee. A listening session at Marshall City Hall. This will be a chance for area farmers, agriculture representatives and community members to share concerns and priorities.
The listening session will start at 10 a.m. in the Marshall City Council chambers at City Hall. There will be a video message from the senator to start the discussion portion of the event.
Fischbach, who represents Minnesota’s Congressional District 7, will speak at a Marshall Area Chamber luncheon on Friday.
Chamber representatives say she will give an update on her priorities for this session of Congress, as well as House priorities. A wide range of topics will be covered in the update. This includes business, agriculture, transportation, childcare and housing issues.
The lunch and speaker event will be held at Everspring Inn and Suites in Marshall. Registration fees are $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.
