About

Each month, the Chamber hosts a Business After Hours networking event. They're designed for members to meet and build relationships with business people from Marshall area companies and organizations representing a wide variety of industries.

Purpose

The overall purpose of the event is to showcase a business or organization. Whether it's to show people around your building, provide an update on a current project, or just to welcome guests while networking and meeting new people in the community!

What happens at the Business After Hours?
The Business After Hours are a come and go event. Guests stop by, network and tour the facility while enjoying food and drinks and learning more about the host's business!

When is the event?
The Business After Hours events are held once a month on a weekday, generally around 4:30pm to 7:00pm. Date and time vary by month.

Where's the event held?
The event is held a different location each month!

What does it cost?
These events are free to attend. Hosting the event does have a fee - see more below.

Any of our Chamber members can host a Business After Hours event!

When can I host the event?

The Chamber assists with hosting a Business After Hours usually once a month. We will help plan a month, day and time for the event to be held. The events are generally 1-3 hours long. The start and end time is usually between 4:30pm to 7:00pm.

What are the fees to host an event?

It costs $199 to host a Business After Hours event.
It costs $30 for a Liquor License if you desire to serve alcohol at your event.

Where can I host an event?

You may choose to host the event at your place of business or another Chamber member's facility if you're unable to have it at your organization or wish to have more space elsewhere or a different atmosphere.

How many people should I expect to come to the event?

The attendance at these events can vary and sometimes depends on the date, location and weather. The Chamber will help market your Business After Hours much as possible to encourage guests to come check it out both before and during the event!

Can I provide food &/or drinks?

Yes! You aren't required to provide any food or drinks for the event but you are more than welcome to! We have seen hosts provide everything from quick snacks to appetizers to a full meal. We can also obtain a Liquor License if you desire to serve alcohol.

What does the Chamber do to assist with the event?

The Chamber will help plan a date and time, obtaining a liquor license (if needed), assist with any planning (if needed), market the event on our website, e-newsletter and social media, and our staff will assist with hosting the event on the event date. We always will have 1-2 of our Ambassadors with on the date of the event as well.

What am I in charge of before, during & after hosting Business After Hours?
  • Planning the overall event: the location, date and time, creating a flyer or advertisement, and marketing. Please note: the Chamber will assist with planning the date/time, location, etc. and more (if desired). We help market the event as well. 
  • Planning food and drink: the host will need to set up their own food and drink. What you choose to serve (if anything) is up to you! The Chamber will obtain the Liquor License for you.
  • Setting up and tearing down: the host will need to set up the event and tear it down.
  • Providing information and prizes (if desired): the host will need to provide any information (flyers, business cards, pamphlets, etc.) they wish to have out for the guests. You can also have out coupons, freebies and a sign-up for door prizes if you wish!
What do I do during the event?

Some hosts will do a presentation or tours while others just let the guests network among themselves while checking out your facility!
