Lanner Brothers Construction in Transition

Thank you to our Sponsors

January 14, 2025

Greetings and Happy New Year,

As you may have heard, either through conversations with Jamie herself or through the grapevine, Jamie will be stepping away from Lanners Brothers Construction in the near future. This may have caused some apprehension and uncertainty as to what that might mean for you and your equipment and structure needs. This letter is written to help answer some of those questions and introduce you to the people who will be helping you with any current and future needs.

For the last month or so, Thorstad Construction has been meeting with Jamie to learn more about Lanners Brothers Construction with the intention of taking over day-to-day operation in the hopes of ultimately purchasing the business outright. Through these meetings, we quickly discovered that the two companies’ values, beliefs, and missions aligned in such a way that this makes perfect sense and will lead to as smooth of a transition as possible.

If you haven’t heard the name before, Thorstad Construction has been a leader in the millwright and grain storage construction industry since Vern Thorstad founded the company in 1959. Thorstad Construction has now been owned by Pete Speh since 2017, and just as you’ve been accustomed to with Lanners Brothers, it is a family-owned and operated business that also brings crews of millwrights with over 75 years of combined experience to job sites in order to complete your projects with integrity, craftsmanship, and with your budget in mind.

What does this mean for you?

  • Effective immediately, if you have any questions, are ready to place an order, or would like to schedule service, please contact Thorstad Construction at 320-367-2159 or Carrie Speh at 320-226-0388. We will be taking care of all orders and scheduling as of the day you receive this letter.
  • If you have a larger operation, you now have access to years of commercial construction expertise to design a site that meets your needs. This includes larger bins, conveyors, and structures to meet all of your current and future needs.
  • There may not be someone in the Marshall office every day initially, but we will make sure that someone is there during planting season and harvest season so you can pick up any parts that you may need to keep your operation running.
  • The service and relationship building that you’re used to will not change. At Thorstad’s we pride ourselves on our return customers and know that good relationships and trust are the foundation of that. We are active in our church and communities (both Granite Falls where we live and Maynard where our office is located) because we believe in the phrase “see a need, fill a need,” and live our lives in such a way that it

We are thrilled to serve you and look forward to meeting you in the coming months & years.

Sincerely,
Pete & Carrie Speh
